It’s been a while folks but we caught up with Cary to discuss his latest EP, Trillions.
Episode 12: The First CD
Cary takes us on a walk down memory lane to a couple of songs (American Girl and Ugly Letters) from Perfect Uncertain, his first CD.

In this episode Cary reveals one of his secret jealousies. You don’t want to miss this. Oh, and he talks about some of his future songs, direction, and tour plans.
Goodnight Human
Cary releases his third album and talks behind-the-scenes about a couple of the songs and the Ah-Ha video.
Two New Songs
Finally, Cary comes out of the studio, talks with us about two of the songs from his upcoming album and asks for your feedback. Please let us know what you think about them here in the comments.
Shame & Gold: Cary Comes Clean
Remember how Cary pretty much didn’t answer the questions about Shame & Gold last episode? He called me up a few days later and said something along the lines of, “Ok, now I have some answers for your questions; I’m comin clean…” So, here you have it, the whole story. At least as of today. As a bonus, you get a sneak peak at a live version of Shame & Gold performed just a couple of weeks ago at the Velour Live Music Gallery. Be sure to leave feedback for us and subscribe over at iTunes.
Shame and Gold
I caught up last week with Cary at The Velour Live Music Gallery, a brilliant little venue in Utah that is worth your time. Based on a suggestion from one of our listeners, we talked about Shame and Gold from Looking Back From Space as well as the drama that surrounds set lists and whether online concerts are a good idea.
Evolution of a Song
Remember back in episode 2 when Cary explained how he writes his songs? Now you get to hear him write one from the very beginning. Maybe. Since the songs evolve we have no idea where these will end up but it’ll be a nice experiment to see whether these little riffs turn into anything on the upcoming album. Drums by Ryan, the man that put down the drum tracks for Coma on Looking Back From Space. He’s an incredible drummer but judge for yourself by checking out this episode.
Valentine in the (Recording) Closet
Cary drops by for an unexpected visit, lays down a single track of Valentine in my closet, and makes fun of my day job pants. Nice. Cary is in prime form so you don’t want to miss this episode.
Perfect Tonight
In this episode, Cary talks about recent happenings including a hit-and-run car crash with a red minivan. We also talk for a few minutes about the history of Perfect Tonight on his 2006 release Looking Back From Space. We wrap up with the original acoustic arrangement, a sort of slow, mellow tune with a thought-provoking feel. Check it out.
